Welcome to BRITLINK Internet Order Entry service. BRITLINK enables you to order your office supplies from your Office Products Dealer quickly and easily. When you enter an item in the order entry screen you will see what you are going to pay for each item. You will see your taxed total for your order and can print a confirmation of your order for your records. Orders committed by 4.00 p.m. will be delivered next day by your selected Office Products Dealer. BRITLINK is fully integrated with your Dealer Computer System to provide you a fast and efficient service.
System Requirements:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later.
Note: If you are using Microsoft Explorer 4.0 or later, you will need to set "every visit to the page" ON to see pictures for items being purchased.
Explorer 4.0
When you access Microsoft Explorer, click on /View/, click on Internet Options/, click on /Settings/, click on /Every visit to the page/, now click on /OK/, then /OK/. You only need do this one time only.
Explorer 5.0
When you access Microsoft Explorer, click on /Tools/, click on /Internet Options/, click on /Settings/, click on /Every visit to the page/, now click on /OK/, then /OK/. You only need to do this one time only.
You are now ready to order items from your dealer website.
Following are general instructions for the use of BritLink Internet Order Entry. The notes are general because Internet Browsers will handle some things a little differently. If there is something you do not understand, or, are experiencing difficulties please call 800-564-6321. You will not be held up by messaging systems, or voice mail, a friendly support person will be available to assist you with you question.
As a BRITLINK user you will be issued with a Web Address and your Account Code. You will also receive a Password for each Ship To/Department address to be used. In the interests of security no edits are allowed to the Shipping Address. There is an attention line available in to which a name or Room # can be typed prior to committing the order.
Using the Internet Order Entry Site
To begin entering orders, launch Microsoft Explorer or Netscape and go to...

Web address is provided by your Office Products Supplier.
Click on the button to Place or Enter an order.
Type in your Account Code and press Enter.
Type in your Password and press Enter, or, click on /CONTINUE/
Entry of an invalid password will prompt you to re-enter the password.
You are now in the Order Entry Screen.
At the bottom of the screen, reading from left to right, you will see a Tracking #, your Account # and Account Name. The Sub total, tax and total at the right hand side will increment as you add items to the screen. On the left hand side of the screen under the Tracking# you will see the number of line items added to the screen.
The gray buttons at the bottom of the screen enable you to <ADD ITEM>, <EDIT ITEM>, <DELETE ITEM>, <VOID ORDER>, <PARK ORDER>, <COMMIT ORDER>, <REFRESH> AND <PICTURE>
Adding an item to the order entry screen.
Click on <ADD ITEM> to add an item to the screen.
Type in the part number for the item that you wish to order. i.e. GSM11BK and press Enter. The description of the BIC Pen is now displayed in the line.
Type in the quantity you require i.e. 12 and press Enter.
The line item is now complete with your price for the item shown at the end of the line.
Press Enter, or, Click on <ADD ITEM> to enter next part number.
Note: you may type in the three character prefix and part number for the item, or, if you do not use the prefix in some cases there will be more than one item using that part number. For example, SAN30001 Sharpie Marker and PIL30001 Pilot Pen. If, you type 30001, a window will appear displaying both items, highlight the one you want then click on /Add Item to the Order/. If you use the prefix as well as the part number then, the item entered is immediately displayed. Each time you add click on <ADD ITEM> you have an option to type in a new part number, or, select the following options.
<LAUNDRY>
This option will take you to a list of the items you purchase on a regular basis and will adjust itself to the most frequently bought items as you continue to place your orders on the Internet. Click on <Laundry> Use the down arrow in the side bar to navigate the list, Click in the Quantity Required box, and type in the quantity you wish to purchase. Work through the list inserting quantities as required and then click on the button at the bottom of the list /Add required laundry items to order now/. All of these items will now automatically add to your order. If you are in the laundry by mistake, just click on the /Add required laundry items to order now/ and you will be returned to the order screen.
<CATEGORIES> This feature allows you to select a <Category>, then<Product Type> and display a list of items of the product type selected. Click on <Category>. Highlight the category you wish to review and then click on /Select Category/ button, Click on the product type to highlight it for review and then click on the /Select Product Type/ button. A list of products will be displayed in the screen. Use your mouse on the sidebar to navigate the list of items. When you see the item you are looking for, click on the part number to see a picture and detailed description. List Price and Your Price is displayed. Press the /Close/ button to return to the list. To add an item to your order, click on /Add to Order/. You will now be in the Order Entry screen, type in the quantity required and press enter to continue.
<SEARCH>This feature allows you to search for items by
<MANUFACTURER><KEYWORD> or <PRODUCT TYPE>.
Click on /Manufacturer/ highlight the manufacturer you wish to review and click on the button /Select Manufacturer/. The list of items for the selected manufacturer may appear immediately, or, you may need to wait a few moments. It depends on how many line items there are for the selected manufacturer. Use your mouse on the sidebar to navigate the list of items. When you see the item you are looking for, click on the part number to see a picture and detailed description. List Price and Your Price is displayed. Press the /Close/ button to return to the list. To add an item to your order, click on /Add to Order/. You will now be in the Order Entry screen, type in the quantity required and press enter to continue.
Click on /Keyword/ and type in the keyword. Press Enter. A list of items for the keyword will shortly appear in a window. Use your mouse on the sidebar to navigate the list of items. When you see the item you are looking for, click on the part number to see a picture and detailed description. List Price and Your Price is displayed. Press the /Close/ button to return to the list. To add an item to your order, click on /Add to Order/. You will now be in the Order Entry screen, type in the quantity required and press enter to continue.
Click on /Product Type/ highlight the product type you wish to review and click on the button /Select Product Type/. The list of items for the selected product type may appear immediately, or, you may need to wait a few moments. It depends on how many line items there are for the selected product type. Use your mouse on the sidebar to navigate the list of items. When you see the item you are looking for, click on the part number to see a picture and detailed description. List Price and Your Price is displayed. Press the /Close/ button to return to the list. To add an item to your order, click on /Add to Order/. You will now be in the Order Entry screen, type in the quantity required and press enter to continue.
<EDIT ITEM>
If you wish to edit a line item and change the quantity ordered. Click on the Part Number for the item to highlight the item. Now click on <EDIT ITEM>. The quantity field is now available to enter the new quantity for the item. Enter zero quantity and press Enter will remove the item.
<DELETE ITEM>
If you need to a delete an item, click on the Part Number of the item you wish to delete to highlight the item. Now click on <DELETE ITEM> and the item will be removed from the order list.
<VOID ORDER>
If you wish to void the order you are entering click on <VOID ORDER>. A black screen will appear, click on /Continue/ or, if you clicked on this button in error, click on /return to order/. Click on /Continue/ to Void the Order and return to the first Page.
<PARK ORDER>
If you wish to park your order, for access again at a later time. Click on <PARK ORDER>. Your order will be parked, the next time you visit the Order Entry Screen the items previously entered will be displayed. You may now continue entering items for the order. (Note only one order may be parked at any one time per password used.) This feature enables you to add items as they come up for order
and when the order is finally complete, the order can be committed.
<COMMIT ORDER>
When you are ready to commit your order, click on <COMMIT ORDER>. The Purchase Order Authorization Window will now be displayed. Type in your Purchase Order Number and press Enter. Note: You must type something in this field to continue. Or, Click on the X at the top right of the Shipping Address Window to close the screen and return to the Order Entry Screen.
After you have typed in your Purchase Order Number and pressed Enter, the Shipping Address will be displayed. You may enter a name or reference in the space provided. You May wish to add a name, or Room# for example.
At the bottom of this window you have an option to <Complete and Print Order> or <Complete Order> to print a copy of your order and tracking number. Click on <Complete and Printer Order>, the order will be displayed on the screen. Right Click on your Mouse and left click on Print in the displayed menu. A copy of your order will now be printed showing your tax and total for the order. If you do not wish to print a copy of your order, then, simply click on <Complete Order> Detail of your order will appear in a window. Click on the X at the top right hand side of the window to return to the front page. Or, you can <RETURN TO THE ORDER ENTRY SCREEN> You may have left something off the order. When you are ready, click on <COMMIT ORDER> again.
<REFRESH>
In the event of a strange screen display or a CGI error Click on the Refresh button to clear the screen. If the Refresh button cannot be viewed on the screen, press Function Key 5, F5 to clear the screen.
<PICTURE>
If you wish to see a picture of any item in your order, Click on the item you wish to view if it is not already highlighted and then click on <PICTURE>. A picture of the item will now be displayed in the screen showing the List Price and Your Price for the item and a more detailed description of the product.
